All of us need storage places for our files on Internet. But it is preferred if we can password protect the files. Some people desperately want their files to be famous, so they don’t want any password protection. Drop.io enables you to create simple private sharing points called “drops” which can store your files.
A drop is space you can use to store and share anything privately (pictures, videos, audio, documents, etc.) Drops are not “searchable” and not “networked”, they just exist online as private points for exchange between individuals or groups.
You can create as many drops as you want in as little as two clicks and set things like a password, whether others can add their files to your drop, and how long you want it to exist (you can renew later). Drops can be flexibly used in a range of ways from sharing family photos and videos to collaborating on group projects.
The service does not require any email sign-up and no “accounts”. Each drop is private, and only as accessible as you choose to deliberately make it.To make a drop just click the big red button that says ‘drop it’ on the Home page of Drop.io
Each drop has four primary input methods – the web, email, voice, and fax – and a few secondary ones like “widgets”. Anything you input into a drop can then be retrieved on the web at that drop location. You can even subscribe for drops.
Creation of drops can be done via Email, MMS or even your cell-phone. Downloading drops as zip file is also easy: click download as zip and download the whole drop at once. Drop.io can be used on your phone by just typing in your drop’s name in your phone’s browser. For example, www.drop.io/dropname/m will format the drop for your phone.
I have added a Google Adsense document which contains changes in their terms and conditions for 2008 in my drop. View my drop.
