I think your name is Avneesh. Anyways, Just get the WAP service activated from BPL Gallery(now LOOP) and use a PC suite for your phone to connect your mobile to PC. Now observe the settings in each of the images that I have provided. I think, it will work out fine.

@Anonymous-Get your settings from the BPL gallery or LOOP Gallery for your Imate. Some of the settings might be different from Nokia phones. But the Proxy Server and Port number will be the same.

Even I tried using Skyfire with my symbian which is a S60 3rd edition FP2 phone.But it did not work. Later on I came to know that it works only onFP3 devices and mostly on Symbian Touch-Screen phones

Actually speaking, I am unaware of settings in any other phones except for Nokia. I can just tell you that, If you can access internet on your Phone for free, Then just follow the second method, and you must surely be able to access the Internet on PC for free.
If you are unable to access the Internet on your Phone, then you must contact the BPL Gallery (now LOOP)to get the settings for your phone and then use the second method given above.
Some people have commented that both the methods don't work, which is not true. Sometimes, you are getting a low signal and hence there is some network problem, so you must try this method again after some time. Also, if the phone doesn't get connected in the first attempt, then don't give up. It takes my BPL_WAP about 6-7 attempts every time to get connected to the PC.

I am extremely sorry that I am not able to understand what you mean and help you out in this case. The proxy error should go after refreshing the browser once or twice.

@Vivek It might not be possible to use Yahoo messenger because ,I think it uses some another port number of the PC. You can use Yahoo messenger right inside your Yahoo mail account in the Left hand side.

@Aniket Sometimes, it may so happen that you are getting a low signal and hence there is some network problem, so you must try this method again after some time. Also, if the phone doesn't get connected in the first attempt, then don't give up. It takes my BPL_WAP about 6-7 attempts every time to get connected to the PC. I cant tell you exact settings because settings differ from mobile to mobile depending on Operating system and other things. The basic things that will remain constant for all phones are:
Access point name: mizone
username: +91[your bpl number]
password: bplmms
proxy server address: 10.0.0.10
port number: 9401

If these settings don't help then contact your nearest LOOP gallery. Use the second method for connecting the phone to PC or use the equivalent of the First method for Sony Erricson [i.e : Sony Erricson PC suite] for connect it to PC. Check the Browser settings from the Images and you should be able to access the Net!

I am very happy that I have been of help to you. I am not able to understand your question clearly.
If you want to download anything using your PC, then don't use any Download managers. If you are using Download Managers then you have to adjust the proxy settings for that Download Manager also.

And according to my information the SISx file of Opera Mini is not more than 450 kb. The Opera browser for desktop is about 10 Mb.

@sid It might be because you might not have activated GPRS on your Mobile. For accessing Internet on your PC, first you need to get the GPRS activated on your Mobile and then connect it to the PC.

For getting settings for the Mobile, visit your nearest LOOP gallery.

I am very sorry that I am unable to understand your question!
As far as I understood, you want to use the 1000Mb which you get as free for Internet usage on your PC, right?

You just need to connect the Internet using the first or second method, but keep in mind that your Proxy Server address and Port Number might be different. You do the similar settings as I have shown and your WAP should work fine as Internet for your PC.

I was successful in connecting my pc to internet via Nokia 6070 as modem.The 9850MB of my free "WAP" quota was not consumed due to my 10 min browsing,but instead Orange Austria charged me 8 euros(~Rs 800) for it. The website says that I have 9850MB WAP for free.It seems that WAP is somewhat different from WEB may be because Orange Austria also provides Mobile Internet by UMTS/HSDPA sticks on other contracts. Can a simple change in the settings of my browser makes me switch from WEB to WAP? (I can read the proxy server id and port if I put my sim in a samsung mobile.)

I think you are not using BPL! Anyways, if you are using BPL outside India then you will surely be charged in the same manner.

It is very well known that WEB Internet and WAP are two different things. If you connect your Mobile to your PC, then the default connection you will be making is the Internet[i.e WEB connection]. For making the WAP connection, one thing you can do is that ask your carrier to cut down your Internet[i.e WEB service] so that you can use only the Free WAP service.
Then you can connect your PC for free with your WAP connection. If you have further doubts, then feel free to comment again!

Thanks alot, YOUR Methods works here too in Austria.
I entered the wap address by selecting the Configuration manually in the one touch access wizard. These setings and passwords were copied from a samsung phone supplied by orange.austria. Then I changed the browsers proxy and port setting and then tried to connect. Yes it was a success and now my free WAP qouta is being consumed and my call credit is not being lowered.

I think you might not get proper network at the place you are trying to connect. If you are giving up after 2-3 tries then don’t do that. Try for about 10 mins continuously and you will succeed. It normally takes about 5-6 tries for getting proper connection via Loop WAP. Also, check if your “G” symbol is constant or Blinking. If its blinking then you are currently trying to connect via GPRS. the GPRS is not connected in this mode.

A good idea will be that you first get connected on your mobile [i.e. first surf 2-3 websites on your phone] and when you have a working connection, attach that phone to your PC.

Although the ‘G’ doesn’t blink it doesn’t have the square around it to and if i dial again i get hardware failure pop up displayed on PC i am only able to dial again after replugging the usb cable after disconnecting it.

That is what I am talking about! First surf 2-3 websites on your Phone. If you are able to surf websites on your Phone, that means you are having a working WAP connection.[i.e. the Square outside the "G" will be complete] Then use the first or second method.

I think you are using the Second method. If that’s the case, then you need to replug the Cable again-and-again as you are rightly doing.

Your phone is GPRS phone, so It will take longer than usual to get connected to Internet . Now-a-days, most of the phones are EDGE enabled phone. They connect to the Internet faster than the GPRS phones. As you stay in Malad(West), Network is not a problem for you!

BPL always gave free WAP to its subscribers[no GPRS]! This settings are firstly not for your Phone! These settings are to be done on your PC. First see weather you are getting proper connection of WAP on your phone and then connect it to PC. It will take some time to get connected to PC. If you fail in the first method then use the second method

There is no way you can increase the download speed! It might increase on its own if you are having good network connection or the Load on their Server is less. I don’t think that use of download accelerators will help in this case.

Just use another Browser like(Mozilla FireFox) or try refreshing the Opera HomePage 2-3 times. Check weather you have dome proper settings in your Browser as shown in the images!

Hey Pradeep,
Try again and again . It will surely help. I get internet connection after trying a lot of times, cause mostly the load on the server is a lot and It is unable to authenticate your connection. If you try again and again you will surely be able to connect using both the methods. Just check weather you have put the proper proxy server address and proper port number.

I know the speed is very slow. But you can surely login to all the websites you mentioned above. If you are not able to do so, then clear your cookies and try again.

It is possible that still you won’t be able to login, then use my tip:
Login through the login page on orkut and then if nothing open up. Just type http://www.orkut.co.in/Home.aspx

Try using the proxy setting in the messenger settings. I have personally not tried this method, but i think it will work. Anyways, if this doesn’t work, then use yahoo messenger inside yahoo mail.

There have been connection errors taking place these days. You can always try again after some time.

I would ask you not to use IE because there are a lot of settings required to configure it and there is no guarantee that it will work. Stick to Firefox or Opera.

If you are getting a PPP error, then check weather you have entered the proper username and password. Check weather you have configured the Nokia PC suite with proper configuration of…
username: +91and your number
password: bplmms
Access point name: mizone

You can always ask your doubts again and again if it is not clear. I might take some time to answer your questions because I am a bit busy with my Engineering studies, but I will answer your questions for sure!

@priyesh: As far as my knowledge goes, I think you can use Bpl WAP with the same setting you use in Mumbai. You don’t need to make any change. Just remember that if your mobile operator changes in Pune, then you may be charged for it or it wont work. Just take care about that.

did u try BPL net on PC in the last few days? I have been using it for 6 months but since 3 or 4 days,the connection is established but on Firefox it says “file not found” on every site and Internet explorer says “You are not authorized”. Do u know any solution??

I have been using BPL net successfully on my PC for the last 3-4 days. I am not facing any problem.
I will try to find a solution to your problem and reply here as soon as I find one.

You would have not configured your modem properly!
Did you put the Username as Phone number, the Password as bplmms and Access point name as mizone. If you have done that then try doing the same steps again and again. It takes some time to get connected.

The next day when I tried to connect, it got connected but after about 2 seconds there was no increase in the number of packets..

Even I face this problem many times these days. If you observe closely the connection between your Mobile and PC gets disconnected too when this happens.
So, whenever this happens I connect to via the Nokia PC suite again and it again starts working.
There is nothing like port blocking happening in this case.
Just try connecting again . For better results first use Internet on your Mobile for 2-3 minute[i.e. surf 3-4 websites] and then connect it to your PC.
I must work and it is working for me.

tried with second method and also done proxy setting, connection is successful but unable to browse thru any browser.

Hi Tech Buzz: You can connect your GPRS, by creating a Dial up connection and when it gets connected You need to use the Proxy server and the Port number of Airtel in your Browser.

Check weather you have created the connection properly! If it is proper then check weather you are getting proper network on mobile, also check the packet transfer while you are on the network!

I’m using this trick since March 2009 and its working very well. but from 13th sept 2009 it not working.
I again try to internet on 14th Sept 2009 and its working but it is chargeable. After disconnection when u will check ur balance ur balance will be reduced.

@Dilkhush: Once you complete one year in the the Gang plan, the free WAP is disconnected and you will be charged for it!

@ Rohit: but i never activate gang plan or wap, gprs or any thing on my mobile. one day I saw a blog on network and try the same and its working for me.
For this I’m using a application called proxifier. In proxifier i use 10.0.0.10 as proxy server and 9401 as a port and I connect the internet through Nokia PC suite with one touch internet and configure the setting manually like “mizone” as access point +9198….. as user name rest of thing left blank and its work for me. but its not working even i connect internet too.

even now I can’t connect the internet too. it show ppp error.

@dilkhush: The PPP error arises if your id is not getting authenticated. I means there is some configuration problem on your side. Check the phone number and password properly and try again. Best of luck.

Tnx yaar its working. infact we dont hav to do all these setting jus go to advance modem properties and replace “www” with “mizone”.
PPP error means that u r trying to use Internet not wap . So plz check setting in phone and modem properties.

@pratik: This is an old service. It was free first now this service is being charged. Loop had 89Rs unlimited WAP package. You can use that if you want unlimited Internet.

@Rohit – what is the too minimum billing for this unlimited Internet plan …..

from past 1 month, due to updated loop network security many of the loop wap users are unable to use the internet on PC or Laptop…..
The internet connection disconnects within 1 mins when connected via PC or Laptop….

Hey i followed your method (the 2nd one) as best as i could but when i press “dial” , there comes a window where it asks me to dial *99# on my phone and to press “connect”… But thereafter it shows that it could not connect…and asks me to redial with the same result ‘Failed to connect’

I am using a nokia 5800 and my email is manu_blues@yahoo.co.in

What is the problem ?? plz help
