I got the same problem and I freaked out. I contacted HOSGATOR and they fix my problem in just few minutes.

Om ask your host if you have the same problem I am sure they can restore your database as they do keep a backup.

You should download a copy of the WordPress automatic backup plugin.. (just do a quick google search) – It backups your database daily and sends the file to a gmail account!
