I don’t agree with the second myth that you cannot maipulate the alexa rank. Just Install the alexa bar on a brand new site and set it as your homepage and then see the result. And tell no1 about the site then also you’ll see that alexa rank is increasing

Alexa rank is not the true indicator of the total traffic to your site, as rightly observed. It is just one of the indicators that can broadly tell about the popularity / traffic of a site, provided the system works properly and if the data size is big. But, in a real world, people can manipulate certain things; and Alexa is one of those things. However, to be fair to Alexa, I must hasten to add that the manipulation will not be possible (generally speaking) if your site has a top Alexa rank of less than 10,000. Manipulation to some extent is possible only at Alexa ranks say > 200,000 or so. Below that the scope for manipulation decreases as you go up the ladder of Alexa.

I truly agree with your post…… But one more thing I would like to add……
If your ranking is very good a particular country no mater what your visitors are your ranking will be higher……..
