LG Cookie pep: The Complete Review
A phone with cool features and also quite light on the pocket is always appreciated. Keeping this exactly in mind, LG had launched the LG Cookie pep in India after six months of its International launch (known as LG Cookie pop elsewhere). This compact and Fully touch-screen phone with Social Networking apps is basically targeted towards the youth.
Specifications
- Sleek Brushed Aluminum body
- 3-inch(7.62 cm) WQVGA fully touch screen
- 42MB Internal memory expandable up to 8GB expandable (microSD)
- 3 MegaPixel camera
Features
- One-Touch Social Networking
- MP3 player
- One-Touch smart key.
- User Interface with SPEED DIAL screen, WIDGET screen and LIVESQUARE
- Bluetooth
- FM Radio
Photos : Look and Feel

Price
It is priced quite competitively at INR 7,500.
My thoughts : Review
The fun graphical interface with pocket applications, live cricket simulation and access to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace is surely going to attract the younger generation. We also need to see how the 360° marketing plan for LG (the biggest marketing plan by LG till date) works out.
The sleek design and a single back lit Button operation function is expected to be a hit. Considering all the features, the phone is decently priced and gives value for money. But, I expected LG to launch a 3G version of Cookie, but that sadly dint happen. I will call this as the only turn-off!

@Sam: This phone is surely better than Nokia 7230
@Shankar: The touch screen is not as good as Samsung Corby but is good enough.
@Amaresh: Some MP4 videos are not supported because a different encoding system is used.
@Dhwanan: Corby Pro is better, but remember that it is costlier also !
@Ravi: You can browse this phone and use Internet on your PC. Thats not an issue.
@Jay: The music quality in the Handsfree is pretty good. No problems with that.
@Ayush: Samsung Corby plus may help you. Have a look!

One feature that I find interesting is the possiblity of the use of solar energy through the acquisition of a back solar panel.
I quite like its design.

Hi,
single button in this phone is not working for me , using this button i can receive/make the calls but not able to disconnect , if i disconnect also at the receivers end it will be calling.
No zoom/flash feature for camera
no support for MP4 video
music is not that good
touch screen is very hard
since there is single button , if you dont want to receive the call u need to unlock the screen and u can end the call.

Got this phone last week. And to be honest I am completely surprised by LG this time. I never liked their products before as thery were not user-friendly but this little phone is a exception, thankfully.Looks uber cool with the aluminium finish and the the single button on the phone.
Camera is okay but is good when pics are transferred to PC. Sound is good but not better than the Corby.Tons of cool features and good battery life considering its a touch screen.
Buying Price – Rs 7000 INR/10 April.
Overall – 8/10

@Arun: There is a new Nokia Touch Screen 3G phone which looks very similar to 5800 Xpressmusic. It is Nokia 5230 Nuron. Its very good! Just for 3150 with 3G, 2MP camera and Touchscreen. It has everything except for Wi-Fi

I bought this phone yesterday..
It is..a cool phone…..
The 3mp camera is good under sunlight…
but…there is no zoom for it in 3mp(2048×1536)….but u have to switch to other low quality sizes to get the image zoomed….
The 3 way UI is good(3 home screens)
Among them Live Square is superb …..
Accelerometer works good…..
It takes almost simpler documents..
like… .txt,pdf and all…..

HI before buying this phone i read all reviews here…so i feel as i brought it last week i should share my experience here with u all………
First of all I really like the design, looks and touch display. Display is very colorful and vivid. Camera pics and music player clarity is good. However there are few points which i didn’t like are as follows :
1. Scroll bar is very narrow so its very difficult to scroll through the pages though my figures are not that much fat.
.which means u have be satisfied with the crap headphone LG provide….
2. Day light visibility is really bad.
3. Its supports only very few video format which i didn’t expected at all..
4. Headphone looks very cheap and doesn’t fit in ear well. Though i must say that clarity wise its good. But the bad thing is that its micro usb headphone. And still now in market haven’t found any micro usb headphone
5. I feel sometimes u can fool the accelerometer functionality. Its slow also sometimes.
However still now i haven’t explored the phone much. This feedback I am giving after one week of use…

It is a big failure. LG can never replace the old tested/validate phone companies (samsung or nokia). This handset has audibility problems. Guys dont go for it. It is a just slim piece with attractive features and cool price….but so what basic functionality of this phone is BAD. If you are a person who speaks softly or at lower tone you will have hard time….So guys my comment is this phone is a big failure……buy anything else but dont trust this LG. Their representatives are also are bullshit…once they sell…..they dont care about the problems u face with phone…..
SPECIALLY PEOPLE OF GURGAON……don’t buy from retail outlet named spice communications (shop no. 112-113) Sector-14. They are big cheaters!!!

Hi
Don’t go for cookie pep.
It is a waist phone.
The outgoing sound quality is very bad.
The person at other end who is talking to you never able to hear you proper
FM will not scan channels automatically
If you manually set then also the output will not be clear
it is hanging whenever you open the music icon
Check this three features very clearly if you go for purchasing this item

Apart from the performance being slow the service also sucks
The theft and other warranties are bullshit. I bought a LG cookie and it got robbed in 2 weeks, in-spite of applying for the insurance thrice i dint get any response from either LG or Cholamendal or General unsurance company, If they are selling by showing insurance, its mere bulshiting

I have been using this phone for 6 months now. initially it gave a bit hanging problem. then it used to restart itself but i ignored it coz it is still nice.. i am having more issues with it now.. the mp3 files when i put it they are ok.. after a day it says file format not supported. same happens with images as well.. the only video format it supports is 3gp.. even videos have the same issue… two of my friends have the same phone and same issues… we all bought it around the same time.. if this is fixed for the price it is an awesme phone
