Windows Phone 7 doesn’t really seem to be the talk of the town after the announcement of Google Nexus S (running Android 2.3). But frankly speaking, it does seem to be a strong competitor to the Nexus S. I got a few minutes to check out the Windows Phone 7 which was the LG Optimus 7 E900 and I enjoyed playing around with it! (Thanks Annkur)
This post is not aimed at providing technical insights, but just to describe the casual usage of Windows Phone 7 for 15 minutes. I managed to click a few photos of the LG E900 aka. Optimus 7 Windows Phone 7, so you can get a good idea of its look and feel.
The LG Optimus 7 E900 seems to be a sturdy handset to hold and pretty comfortable to use. The 3.7 inch Screen doesn’t seem small at all.
The 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon seems to perform faster on this phone when compared to others (may be its just my feeling). But, it seems to be necessary as it has a host of features including the Microsoft Office.
At the first site, it appears to be just another Touch Screen phone, but its equipped with a Camcorder to take decent photos at 5MP (I wont call them great) Shooting in Panoramic mode is something to look forward to as it provided good results even with people moving around and in Dim light.
The Touchscreen is pretty sensitive and good to use. But the brightness is nowhere near the the Super AMOLED screen of Nexus S or the Samsung Galaxy S.
The Arrangement of the Menu Icons is really nice in the Windows Phone 7 and its pretty comfortable to use. Also, the extended menu list looks exactly what it should be.
The People’s Section seems to integrate all the contacts seamlessly with their Individual photos and Email Addresses. The XBOX Live on the Phone makes it a great choice for Gamers.
I didn’t really get much time to check out some more features of this phone, but I am sure that next time I will provide a better perspective!
