Epson, a world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions has made its ultimate photo and graphic arts printing technology more compact and affordable than ever before with the launch of the Epson Stylus Pro 4900. Capable of handling 17-inch wide media (A2+), the printer is the smallest model that features Epson’s most advanced Micro Piezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head and UltraChrome HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink set. These features were only previously found in Epson’s top-of-the-line, multi award winning Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24-inch wide) and 9900 (44-inch wide) printers. The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 is also the only printer in its class that can handle roll media and features an optional X-rite spectroproofer colour management system.
“The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 is important to Epson and our customers as it makes our very best photo and graphic arts printing technologies available in a more affordable, smaller, and more compact form factor than ever before,” says Samba Moorthy, Senior General Manager Sales & Marketing, Epson India.
Epson Stylus Pro 4900 Features:
• Epson Micro Piezo TFP print head – the only print head in the world that is capable of handling 10 ink channels simultaneously with 360 nozzles for each colour.
• Epson UltraChrome HDR ink set – Features three shades of black and new orange and green inks. Delivers smoother tonal gradation from shadows to highlights, excellent color stability, long term lightfastness, highly accurate color control with neutral black and white, high gloss levels, water-resistant prints and significantly reduced graininess in skin tone areas. The photo black and matte black inks are automatically switched by the printer depending on the media detected. Three-level black ink produces outstanding monochrome prints while significantly improving gradation and eliminating colour casts in coloured prints.
• Certified 98% Pantone colour gamut coverage – Working together, the Epson Micro Piezo TFT print head, UltraChrome HDR ink set and the printer’s advanced colour look-up-table processing algorithm enable it to achieve a certified and unprecedented 98% of Pantone’s Matching System colour gamut.
• Unique, class leading features – The Epson Stylus Pro 4900 is the only printer in its class (A2+ capable) that can accommodate roll media and to feature an optional X-Rite spectroproofer (X-Rite ILS20EP/EPUV) colour management system.
