iPhone 4 coming to India on 27th May 2011 from Airtel and Aircel

Apple’s flagship phone, the iPhone 4 is all set to make its appearance in the Indian market soon. About a month back, we had already confirmed that iPhone 4 is coming to India from Airtel and Aircel. And now, we have got the finalized date for the iPhone 4 launch in India and its 27th May 2011.

On 25th May, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 was launched in the Indian market by Samsung. It “appeared” that Samsung rushed into its premium phone launch just as the information of Apple iPhone launching on 27th leaked.

As a lot of 3G circles are already live in India, enjoying the 3G experience on the iPhone 4 would be good experience of Apple lovers.

According to the press release, Aircel will offer pre-paid as well as post-paid plans for the iPhone 4 in India. Have a look at the pricing screenshot below:

The iPhone 4 will be priced Rs. 34,500 for the 16GB model and Rs. 40,900 for the 32GB model in India. It does appear to be a big amount especially when the phone is coming to India nearly a year after its International launch!

    It would be difficult for Apple products to penetrate Indian or Asian markets per say. Nokia and Samsung has some fair share of great products. I heard, there’s dual sim-card technology already in place in India. In US, its unheard of at the moment :)

    2Kiran: Exactly, people are using multiple SIM cards in the same phone as the tariff rates of various operators differ.. Users want to have the best deal!

    I cant believe India is just now getting the iphone 4. No wonder Apple is no rush for the iphone 5. They are still releasing the iphone 4 in big markets!
