Sony VAIO aims at 20% market share in the Indian Laptop Market!

Sony VAIO Laptops have always been known for their good looks and powerful processing capabilities. The Sony’s new range of VAIO Laptops is differentiated into various series, each series targeting a particular market audience. Proper care has been taken to ensure that none of the customers are left out without a Sony VAIO Laptop for their budget. The VAIO Range of Laptops are now available from Rs. 24,990 to Rs. 1,29,900 and consists of 62 machines.

Sony has sold 2.5 lakh Notebooks in the 2010 Financial year and aims at selling upto 5 lakh units in the current year. For achieving this goal Rs. 50 crore have been alloted towards the marketing activities.

Sony has already achieved 15% market share in the Indian market when it comes to VAIO laptops, but they expect it to reach the 20% mark by the end of this financial year.

The VAIO Y series is targeted towards casual users who basically need to stay connected and do some normal work on their Notebook. It comes in 4 colours and starts at Rs. 24,990.
SONY VAIO Y series
The VAIO E series is targeted towards Students and Young professionals who need some multimedia entertainment along with staying in touch with official work like checking Emails, etc. It feature a peculiar truss pattern and comes in 4 colours, starting from Rs. 27,990.

The C Series from VAIO sports bright colours and is aimed at Sporty and Stylish people. It comes with a full HD screen and high performance graphics, which makes the multimedia consumption a delight. Available in 6 different shades, the prices range between Rs. 54,990 and Rs. 69,990.
Sony VAIO S series Laptop
The Sony VAIO S Laptops offer a complete package of performance and slim looks. Equipped with a long-life battery, it is perfect for heavy official and outdoor usage. It is priced between Rs. 47,990 to Rs.1,29,900 and is available in 5 different colours!

    VAIO is a branded products and many Indian consumers like it but Sony will have to work hard to achieve thei targets and it is not going to be easy. Lenovo and HCL are strong competitors and are offering products at reasonably lower cost.

    Just 20%. They should be aiming at more. I don’t understand why people don’t go for VIAOs instead of HP, Compaq, Dell, etc. Viaos are much better in every aspect. Well, except the fact that you can’t customize it.

    People only buy sony because of the name, it’s not the case anyone, I wouldn’t even look at sony now, there laptop all the screen are made by Samsung or LG. Sony cant make Laptop.
