Lenovo launches ThinkPad, IdeaPad A1 and IdeaPad K1 Android Tablets in India

Lenovo has entered the Tablet market in India with a very comprehensive product range; the products being available in literally all the price segments adding weight to its portfolio. Lenovo also promises tablets of varying sizes and platforms to be launched over the next six months.

As a part of the announcement, Lenovo announced its first lineup of Tablets consisting of the IdeaPad A1, IdeaPad K1 and the ThinkPad series; all based on the Android platform, Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile-processors and featuring the Corning Gorilla scratch-resistant glass. All the tablets are crafted considering portability, superior performance, power management and to offer enhanced computing experience to its users.

The ThinkPad tablet is crafted for business users and features Android Honeycomb 3.1 on its 10.1″ display. It is bundled with the accurate pressure sensitive ThinkPad Tablet Pen, which allows handwritten text to be converted into proper documents. A 2MP front-facing video camera enables video conferencing. Having extra security arrangements and Documents to Go Office suite, a USB attached Keyboard accessory is also available which makes it a nearly complete Netbook!

It is available in three variants starting from Rs. 29,500/- (16GB, WiFi), Rs. 41,900/- (32GB, WiFi+3G) and Rs. 46,900/- (64GB, WiFi+3G)

The IdeaPad A1 is a 7″ Entertainment tablet featuring Android Gingerbread 2.3. It weighs just 1.7 lbps and is half an inch thick. It is optimized for flash and supports Flash 10.2 content; Lenovo SocialTouch is pre-installed to manage all social networking engagements on a single, easy-to-use interface. It features a Dual app store (Lenovo App Shop and the Android Market) so assure thousands of Apps. It is available only in the WiFi connectivity option and is priced at Rs. 14,990/- for the 16GB model.

The IdeaPad K1 is aimed at customers who want to mix entertainment and work. Its comes with a 10.1″ screen and runs Android 3.1. It has a mini-HDMI port for connecting it to the HDTVs. Featuring a 5MP rear and 2MP front-facing camera, it also has full Flash support. Its comes with 40 pre-loaded apps, and has the feature to sync multimedia files to the cloud with just a touch. It is priced at Rs. 29,500/- (32GB, WiFi) and Rs. 33,990/- (32GB, WiFi+3G).

    I really enjoyed this post. I would like to go with Lenovo IdeaPad K1 as it brings some fun for me.

    I have doubts that it will perform same as iPad. Because in my view the iPad killer tablet is Galaxy Tab 750 and at this high price.. people might go for iPad only!

    Apple iPad is king in this segment. It really gives good impressions then other tablets. Way to compete against iPad is to slash the prices and increase the features according to me.

    I think if the Lenovo was a bit cheaper it take the market by storm.
