Tablets are becoming a part and parcel of our regular life and are being used in every field. Keeping this in mind, Binatone has designed a tablet especially for kids. This is one of the first ventures of its kind and it will be interesting to see the response of such a product.
Binatone have recommended this product for ages above four and will include a set of apps ranging from educational, learning, music, books for an all round early development of the kid.
The specifications of the App Star are a basic 7inch screen of resolution 800×480 pixels coupled with a 1GHz processor. The internal memory is 4GB and it has 512MB RAM. It also includes a micro SD slot if additional memory space is required. The connectivity is limited only to Wi-Fi and it has a front VGA camera for self portraits or video chats.
As the target market of the Binatone App Star is small kids it has been given a funky look and additional protection against regular dropping of the device. The device comes with the option of multiple users for child and parent and the option of using parental controls to block websites or apps which the parent feels will have a negative impact on the child. The exact Android version is not clear. The international model has a set of 250 in built apps and games and it is believed that the Indian model will follow suit.
