Nokia Lumia 625 Review: What’s IN and What is NOT!

Big screen Smartphones have already become a rage in the market and Nokia rightly felt the need to tap this growing segment. Already having a few 4” Lumia Smartphones under its belt, Nokia had a good portfolio consisting of the Lumia devices consisting the 520, 620, 720, 820, 920 in India. But, the recent announcements of the Lumia 925 and 625 have given it the much needed support. The success of devices from Micromax, Lava, Karbonn and other domestic players along with the Samsung’s Galaxy range all point in the same direction: Indians love Smartphones with BIG screens and consume a lot of regional content for entertainment.

The App Ecosystem is not as developed as that of iOS and Android, but it is not too bad either. A lot of Apps are continuously being added to the Marketplace and it is rare to not find any App that you really cannot do without. Some notable missing Apps are Instagram and Opera Browser.

Would you recommend buying a Lumia 625? And, How would you rate the Lumia 625 in general?

If you are hunting for a huge screen device in the Non-Android Smartphone market in Rs.15-20k budget, then this would be a great device to have. But, note that the Lumia 820 is also a powerful phone with a better screen-quality (AMOLED), 1GB RAM and NFC interchangeable covers and removable battery for around Rs.20000 if you are okay with a smaller 4.3” screen device!

The Lumia 720 is also a good buy for around Rs.16000. The Lumia 720 takes good photos in low-light and also feels very good in hand, but this too comes with a small 4.3” screen with Clearback technology. The 720 doesn’t allow you to take 1080p videos though!

If you are looking to enjoy Bollywood movies (Entertainment in general) and need a Big screen Windows phone, then the Lumia 625 is a good device. This device comes with the Your Movies app and other usual software add-ons like Nokia Music and more. I will give it a decent 3/5 stars!
