Samsung Galaxy Gear was launched along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and was previously only compatible with Note 3. Samsung, now have extended their compatibility with the Galaxy Gear to six devices which include Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy S4. The compatibility would be done by software updates which will be available from November this year.

Samsung Galaxy Gear is a perfect companion to the smartphone as the Galaxy Gear enables the user to answer your calls, view texts without even using your smartphone. The highlight feature of the Galaxy Gear compatibility is the ‘Smart Relay’ feature in which there is seamless transition from your Galaxy Gear to your smartphone i.e. a person can shift from the smartwatch to the smartphone at the exact same position where the person left off on the watch.
The Galaxy Gear has all the features of the standard watch and the can be a valuable accessory to possess, it also has a 1.9MP camera which allows to take pictures or also take up to a 10 second recording which gets stored directly on your smartphones’ gallery. It has a in-built pedometer which keeps a track of the number of steps, the pedometer though is not connected to the smartphone.
The Galaxy Gear is available in India for Rs. 22990/- and with the new compatible smartphones, it lies within the range of Rs. 23500 and Rs. 49900/-.
