XOLO to launch Q1000 Opus powered with BroadCom Processor

XOLO has been on a bit of a roll lately and has released products at a frequent pace over the past few months. XOLO’s rapid rise has turned quite a few heads and Broadcom Corporation, a global innovation leader in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications have announced a partnership with the smartphone manufacturer. XOLO’s latest venture, the XOLO Q1000 Opus will be the first product to bear fruit from this partnership as it will use Broadcom’s latest chipset BCM23550 for its new XOLO Q1000 Opus smartphone. Furthermore, XOLO’s new smartphone leverages Broadcom’s BCM4334 connectivity combo chip and BCM4752 multi-constellation GNSS location chip to deliver a high performance and feature-rich experience. This allows users to stream content over Wi-Fi as well as transfer videos, picture songs via Miracast.

Commenting on the partnership, Sunil Raina, Business Head at XOLO said “XOLO has differentiated itself on delivering performance driven smartphone experience to its users. This tie up with Broadcom Corporation is another big step in the same direction. Our upcoming product – XOLO Q1000 OPUS will deliver high-end multimedia experience and GPS/GLONASS search location technology on a large 5 inch screen at an attractive price point.”

Rafael Sotomayor, Broadcom Vice President, Mobile Platform Solutions also had a few words on the the partnership and said “Driving affordability is the key to tapping into the explosive demand for smartphones in India. Our complete smartphone platform offers a turnkey solution that allows OEMs to expedite production of full-featured, high-performance Android smartphones while significantly lowering development costs.”

The smartphone XOLO Q1000 Opus has a 5″ HD display and will be powered by the 1.2GHz Quad core ARM cortex A7 processor and though there is no official news, it is speculated that it will support the Android 4.2 JellyBean OS. The smartphone is also rumored to have 1GB RAM and 4GB of internal memory which can be expanded further. The smartphone is also speculated to have 8MP rear camera and 1.2MP front camera.

The device will be in the market during the back end of November but there is no news about the pricing of the device yet.
