Firstly, Thanks to all of our loyal readers who have supported us all the way in making this Tech Blog a success. We are growing at a fast pace and constantly getting known for the quality content that we write. I am extremely happy to bring to your notice that we are reaching new milestones when its comes to Traffic and Popularity.

I would like to bring to your notice that one of our recent articles which I published on 1st of April 2011(Fools Day), it was about the Epic Giveaway where we talked about giving away some amazing gadgets to our readers was a Fake post. There is not such Giveaway happening! [Do you remember the article on How to Hack Facebook Accounts which we had written on the last year's Fool's day?]

But we are noticing that people come to that article only for winning prizes and have no intension of contributing to our community or knowing more about us. So, we have decided that we will continue to make fun of such people. Some of our friends liked this idea of playing a prank and noticed that it was a Fake post on the occasion of Fools day and they even commented on the article but I purposely did NOT publish their comments. A sincere sorry to all of them!! I hope you guys will understand..

Pleasant Memories, Top Posts of 2009 and Goals for 2010

2009 is gone and we have ushered into 2010, but I just don’t want to let go some pleasant memories of 2009. It was the year when Tech-Freak Stuff really got its face in the Blogosphere. Earlier, it was just another blog with content which people would find on Search Engines. But now, people come to check out what New this blog has to offer and the way in which it is presented.

Some pleasant Memories of 2009

Tech-Freak Stuff got its First Page Rank. It was a PR 1. But still the NEWS that my Blog had a PR finally got me serious into blogging.

I started winning contests organised by various Bloggers. Agent Deepak, had organised different contests on his blog and I was winning most of those. My luck was on a real high. Also, I won another contest organised by Farrhad which gave me two hosting licenses and 2 free domain names.

I finally decided to move to WordPress! Different Blogger friends started suggesting me to move to WordPress as they so that my Blog had good content but I was not optimising it properly. Under the able guidance and continued help from WordPress champ Shashak Mishra, I migrated from Blogger to wordpress. Shashank has designed this cool looking theme for me! But, one thing happened was that My PR reduced to 0.

I pushed the pedal on SEO. I knew that WordPress as a CMS was already optimised for SEO, but I started giving in more and more. My continued efforts paid off later.

Tech-Freak Stuff Became a Do-Follow blog on the occasion of Friendship day. I always wanted to gift something to my valuable readers, and I found Friendship day as a perfect occasion of converting my Blog to a Do-Follow one.

Traffic started increasing and my Visitors started commenting like crazy! Traffic had literally doubled after I moved to wordpress. I was getting positive vibes as My Alexa rank was also increasing at a Good rate. There were days when Social BookMarking websites like Stumble Upon send me 1500 visitors per day for about 3-4 days.

I thought it was the correct time to make my mark in the Social Media Scene. I started using FaceBook and Twitter for Blog promotion. These Networks really helped me get valuable advice from other Geniuses in this field. Also, the discussions regarding the quality of my Blog started coming up and getting good reviews made me real happy.

Tech-Freak Stuff got a Page Rank hike 2 just around the same time when Google created 3 Sitelinks for the Blog. This was really fantastic News for me as my blog had got a PR hike of 2 (along with 3 Sitelinks) just within 3 months of shifting from Blogger to WordPress.

One the very occasion of my Birthday, Google gifted me one more thing! The sitelinks were increased from 3 to 5. I was just not able to understand how to thank Google for such a cool gift. Within just 20 days of this, TFS got the maximum number of sitelinks Google gives to any Website[which is 8]. This was when people really started Mailing me for Link Exchanges and SEO services. I am going to start some services soon.

And with various my Articles getting published on Various Blog Networks, 2009 came to its slow end. I wont ever forget this year as it really helped establish Tech-Freak Stuff as an identity in itself.

Goals for 2010

I am going to keep this short! Only 4 goals.
1. Making atleast 5000$ from the Internet. Notice that I am saying Internet not just blogging. I am planning to earn my living on the Internet so that I don’t need to look out for any job after my Engineering.

2. Average of about 100,000 pageviews per month. It appears to be a daunting task, but I am determined to achieve it. Lets see how it all works out!

3. Creating my Image as an SEO expert and getting a PageRank of Atleast 4. (I am going to move to a premium hosting in a week’s time)

4. Handling my personal as well as Professional life at its best and finding the proper balance. I don’t want to neglect anything and want to concentrate on every important aspect of my life.

7 things that hindered the growth of this blog in 2009

Everyone does mistakes and its in their good to identify and correct them. I am no exception! I have done a lot of mistakes this year and I think I have realised them, I will work on them and in-turn make the corrections work for my betterment.

You may be astonished to find me writing such philosophical (some may call it psychological) lines. But they just came from my heart. This is among the rare posts which I am writing without any prior preparations. Lets start..

1. No Social BookMarking Buttons

I know many of you would have wished to share some stuff from here on your favourite Social network or bookmark it for further reference. But call it my ignorance or negligence which caused you this trouble.

2. Using a Free web host

I am already cursing myself sticking to a free web host for so long. If you would know, I faced serious problems because of this. I am going to shift to a premium web host on the very first day of the new year. Hoping for a good change.

3. Did not utilise the Social Networks properly

I used to pass my time Playing Poker on FaceBook rather than Blogging or doing any innovative activity. This reduced the number of posts to a great extent and also the quality. I am planning to indulge my mind only in innovation from now on. I dint even promote my Blog on FaceBook for a long time, until now.

Also, I promoted my blog so heavily on Twitter than one on my account got flagged as Spam. I was totally crazy that time!

4. Minimal participation on Forums

Everyone know that Forums can send in a lot of traffic to your Blog and proper utilisation can also get you some cool Link-Juice. I used to answer questions on Yahoo Answers and also on Digital Point forums but my behaviour was too casual and I am repenting for it now. I failed to create my Brand consciousness there.

5. Less Time for Blogging

Being an Engineering student, I already have very less time to do any extra curricular activity. On top of that, I wasted all my time having fun on Facebook and taking stupid Quizzes. Also, the time I got for Blogging was wasted in other Internet activity which I am not comfortable revealing.

6. Personal Matters

Fights with my Near and Dear ones do affect me a lot but they don’t realise this fact. I keep thinking over the quarrels for long time and I am not able to concentrate on any other work during that period. I am planning to accept my mistakes as most quarrels arise because of my stubbornness, this will help in me spending quality time with them and being Mentally happy. I feel sad for my loved ones because they had to forgive me even when I kept repeating my mistakes.

7. Freaking Selflessness

I always went out of the way to help my fellow bloggers and other friends. I never though that people whom I am helping were really Selfish, and not my real friends. I now repent that, If I would have spent his time with my Dear one’s it would have really helped in having a happy state of mind. That too, always!

I think its enough of my thoughts. I am going to correct these mistakes as a part of my New Year Resolution. Now, you share your mistakes too which you would have committed in this year. Hoping that you have realised them!

Just a Small Editorial : I am Sorry!

This is just to inform all you guys that I have my exams going on so I am not Blogging since 10 days now. I am feeling very bad and disgraced to tell you that my Exams will go on till 6th of January 2010, and So, I won’t be finding a lot of time for my Blog. But I will surely have a lot of things to share with you once I am done with Studies!

I hope all of you will understand! Thanks for that.

Also, Let me tell you that it was my Birthday on 4th Of December and I received an unusual but a great gift from our very own Lord Google! Google Increased Tech-Freak Stuff’s site-links from 3 to 5. I hope you understand how excited I am because of this gift!

Anyways, I will catch up with you guys soon, when I get some time off my exams in the last week of December. Till then, Take Care and Have a good time!

Even Famous Bloggers Copy Content! Let us know How.

Being Bloggers we know how much importance is given to Original Content and Unique content! But is it really so, that all great Bloggers have unique content on their Blogs? NO! Many-a-times, even they copy content from other blogs, but they have a different style of doing it. Because of this, it often goes unnoticed that the content is copied. Let us understand how do they do it and what they do to avoid getting caught!

From lesser known Bloggers

Accept the fact, that even new blogs or some blogs with very less traffic have some great content on them! Only because they don’t optimize their blogs for their readers, they are unnoticed. Great bloggers, copy content from them and modify or add a few more points to their article and publish a great article on their Blog without giving any credit to the Blogger who has infact written about it.

Combining two or more Articles

Famous bloggers often do a job of getting a hundred ideas from different places and organizing it in a better and Understandable way, so that they are able to convey a big message in just a single Post!
They take two-three good articles and combine their content to create a Good Mixture of their content. This helps in sharing a lot of ideas in a better way.

Writing about any new technology and Controversial Topics

Do you really think that the Reviews written by then are in fact true? Most of them get paid to write the Reviews of products by Big Companies.
Also, the reviews of the latest softwares and Hardware coming up, written by them are mostly copied content from other popular blogs. Now, you may question how do I say this! The simple reason being they don’t really have access to the Latest products, so how can they write a review on it. They edit reviews from various websites and Create a review for themselves.

Note: The points I have mentioned here are true to my knowledge and Not all great Bloggers are observed following these techniques, But most of them Do. I have personally caught 2-3 of them doing this, So this post! Even many of us Copy content/Get inspired by some content, I would request all to give credit to the original article. thanks!

I have been blogging since a long time now, but its been only about 6 months since I have really started loving Commenting on different blogs. In initial days, I used to spend much time on creating and gathering content, but it dint really get me quality traffic. When I started commenting, I was successful in creating good relationships with other bloggers and also getting quality traffic and link-love from their blogs. So, where do I Comment the most and Which are the Blogs which I really love commenting on and Why? Here is the List:

Greatest Reviews

This blog is responsible for changing my approach to Blogging to some extent. It was where I won the first contest organized by any Blogger! It contains cools reviews of different softwares and sometimes Gadgets too. I personally think that since I started Commenting on this Blog, Lady Luck has started walking with me hand-in-hand in my Blogging career.

Currently a Small contest is going on here in which you may surely be interested. It is giving away 3 Ads Spots for good Commentators.

TechZoomIn

This blog uncovers various new facts which I don’t know. Helpful tips for blogging are found here! It has helped me improve my Blogging practices by telling me what exactly to concentrate on and What to completely neglect.

Serradinho

This blog is run by two bloggers, and both of them are total Geeks! This Blog uncovers various new Tips and Tips which help me improve my Productivity. Also, I love the unique content and Tips which I never seen anywhere else. This Firefox tip is just a small example.

Extreme John

John here has a Unique Voice! He talks about different Blogging tips and How to improve on it. Social Media is the the Core of this blog and this is what I like the most. It also acts as a NEWS Center for me regarding Social Media News and Blogging and Traffic acquiring tips. He is also quite helpful and socializes everywhere possible.

BlogrPro

This blog basically deals with Tips from improving your Blog. How to analyze your Blog for better traffic and How to get more from you give in. It tells us which designs suite better on the Blog and also SEO and other Web Development tips. Helpful WordPress tips are also given with Troubleshooting methods.

TechPatio

Cool updates regarding Apple Updates, iPhones, SEO and other Internet Marketing methods. It also informs me about the Latest News in the Social Media Industry. Cool new websites to improve the web-experience and also new softwares for making the online life easier are talked about.

Misc Bytes

Christie has a very different way to express her views and I am glad to say, most of her views match with mine! Her recent topic about the Gravatar Impersonation literally shook me! She makes me feel at home when I comment on her blog which is the best thing for any commentator.

Now the Final one! Do I need to say its Tech-Freak Stuff ?

I love the people here and they have been very helpful and co-operative. Commentators ask good questions and I really love answering them! After all, this is my blog and I try me best to make the commentators feel comfortable and the Commentators reply in the same way. Love you all!!

Useful Tips for Writing Good Blog Comments

Blog comments are a major factor in deciding the quality and the authority of a blog. So, every blogger is keen to have good comments on his/her blog. But, it is to be remembered as a rule of nature that for achieving anything we need to invest something. So, for getting good comments on your Blog you must leave good comments on other blogs.

So, how to write good comments? Here are some tips:

Commenting on other blogs

1. Do not criticize the article. If you find any mistakes then mail those to the author or mention them in a humble way.

2. Do not argue and stay adamant. Be open in the discussion and try to understand what is being discussed.

3. Write your views about the article and what you think about the topic mentioned in the article. Most importantly, Know what you are writing!

4. Avoid writing off-topic comments. If you want to write an off-topic comment then mention that it is off-topic.

5. Do not try to insult the author and show your superiority. It becomes irritating to handle people who think that they know everything.

6. If you have any doubts or need any explanation from the author then clearly mention your question. Do not try to confuse the author.

7. Take care that you are not being arrogant while giving suggestions.

8. When the author replies to your comment do not forget to say Thanks. If you are unsatisfied with the reply you may re-frame your Comment and post it in a descriptive way.

9. Use a Short Name while commenting (preferably your Name or your Blog Name) Do not use long sentences in the Name field.

Replying to comments on your Blog

1. It is not necessary to reply to each and every comment on your Blog. But it is good if you reply to all.

2. Do not insult the commentator in any case, whatever may be the reason.

3. Thank the commentators giving good and valuable suggestions.

4. Reply to the comment in such a way that the commentator feels that you are wishing to befriend him/her.

5. Don’t forget to correct your mistakes if pointed out through comments. Thank the commentators who help you by showing your mistakes. Learn from the comments and implement good suggestions.

6. Try to answer the questions asked through comments as early as you can.

7. If you are moderating comments then mention your moderating policy and publish/delete the comments as soon as possible.

And one common tip for all comments : Do not make typing mistakes! Please Check your Spelling mistakes thoroughly before submitting a comment.

Many New things Lining-Up [Editorial]

Hey all you friends! I have been out of blogging for 2 months now and its high time I should be back. Just want to say SORRY to all of you, who kept waiting for my Blogging-Return since a long time. Anyways, I was out-of-blogging because of my Engineering Exams which ended on 9th June 2009.
OK, leave it aside! Let me tell you, I have a lot of Cool Tech-Freak Stuff lining up for you in the next few months.

Firstly, I am glad to inform you that Tech-Freak Stuff is finally moving to WordPress and is soon going to be available in a completely new look.

Secondly, I have lot of Cool Tricks and Hacks to unveil and you can get to know about them quite soon.

And last but not the least, Tech-Freak Stuff is soon planning to start hosting Contests and GiveAways for all the readers!

The New Look Blogger DashBoard

The First page which can be seen after signing in to Blogger.com is the Blogger Dashboard Page. First it was a Clumsy Page with a crowded appearing interface but now its completely renewed look makes it fun working with it.

Although the links are the same, their arrangement is different and the blog information elements are being shifted to the Right hand side instead of the Earlier Left.

The Blogger’s profile details appear on the Left instead of the earlier Right. Also the “View Profile”, “Edit Profile” and “Edit Photo” appear just perfect to the right of the Blogger’s Photo.

The “New Post” link is now converted to a Command Button appearing link which is very good to work with.
In Short, the new Blogger Dashboard is fun working with. How do you find it?
