Intel officially unveiled all details regarding its Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 Mobile as well as Desktop processors in CES 2010. The introduction of new chips coincides with the arrival of Intel’s new 32 nm architecture, manufacturing process and integration high-definition graphics inside the processor. It is the successor of the 45 nm architecture.

Intel is expecting good results from better-integrated graphics of the Core i3 and i5 processors, as the sales in the last two years were rather flat. The new “Arrandale” graphics technology has 20% more shaders which is an important component for 3D graphics, Intel senior vice president Sean Maloney said. Intel claims that the graphics performance is roughly 70% better than the integrated graphics in the current Core 2 Duo.

Mobile Platform

Just three months after their Developer Forum 2009 in September, Intel has introduced new dual-core 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M processor with TDP rating of 35W. Four other dual-core Intel Core i7 chips were introduced of which two are for low-voltage family (2.0GHz Core i7-620LM and 2.13GHz Core i7-640LM) and other two are for ultra-low voltage family (1.06GHz Core i7-620UM and 1.2GHz Core i7-640UM).

Both pairs of low-voltage and ultra-low voltage processors will offer Intel Turbo Boost Technology to increase the performance. The low-voltage Intel Core i7 mobile chips have TDP rating of 25W while the ultra-low Core i7 chips have TDP rating of 18W.

Two new Intel Core i3 and three new Core i5 mobile processors were also unveiled at the same time. Out of these the new Core i3 processors are clocked between 2.13GHz for Core i3-330M and 2.26GHz for Core i3-350M. Both processors have Thermal Design Power rating of 35W. These Core i3 are mostly made for light-weight notebooks but won’t offer Intel Turbo Boost Technology to increase the CPU clock speed for higher performance.

While the new dual-core Core i5 mobile chips include 2.26GHz Core i5-430M, 2.4 GHz Core i5-520M and 2.53GHz Core i5-540M. These Core i5 mobile chips have TDP rating of 35W. All three mobile chips feature Intel’s Turbo Boost technology and hence can be overclocked for higher performance. Also, one ultra-low voltage dual-core 1.06GHz Intel Core i5-520UM chip was added in the Core i5 mobile chips family.

Desktop Platform

For the desktop segment, the “Clarkdale” processors include two Core i3 and four Core i5 processors. The two dual-core Core i3 processors include 2.93GHz Core i3-530 and 3.06GHz Core i3-540 processor. These processors won’t have Intel Turbo Boost Technology support but can support Intel Virtualization Technology. These Core i3 chips will have TDP rating of 73W.

Moving ahead, the four dual-core Core i5 chips include 3.2GHz Core i5-650, 3.33GHz Core i5-660, 3.33GHz Core i5-661 and 3.46GHz Core i5-670 microprocessors. These Core i5 chips will feature Intel Turbo Boost technology, Intel Virtualization Technology and will have TDP of 73W while Core i5 will have TDP of 83W.

It has to be noted that Intel has crammed in a lot of transistors inside these processors, but still these consume less power. Power consumption has been Intel’s main motive while designing these processors. The NoteBooks and Desktops having these chips will be available in Market from 20th January onwards. The starting Price range of NoteBooks is expected to be around 800-850$.

Wi Fi and Bluetooth are among the most commonly used technologies now. Wi-Fi is mostly used for Connecting to Internet while Bluetooth is used for Transferring files between two Bluetooth devices. But currently, there are some individual limitations of Both these technologies! So technologists have come together and invented a new technology where the drawbacks of both these are eliminated.

Basically, they have modified the Wi-Fi technology to Transfer files between two or more Wi-Fi devices. Earlier Wi-Fi devices were of no use without a Router which helped them connect to internet. But now with the Peer-to-Peer Wi-Fi connections you will be able to transfer files between two portable devices without connecting to the Router; very similar to Bluetooth.

According to the Wi-Fi alliance, this latest technology will help to seamlessly transfer data between two devices equipped with Wi-Fi receivers without using a hub or a router. So there is no Internet connection required(no need for Wi-Fi hotspots). This will surely means that Wi-Fi will have all the properties of Bluetooth and the Bluetooth Facility in Portable devices like the PlayStation Portable or Mobile Phones will prove to be redundant. What will be the next advance in Bluetooth after the 3.0 technology? So, we need to wait till the mid-2010 until all the devices equipped with this technology come out in public.

It does appear like Wi-Fi trying to supersede Bluetooth! What do you think?

For those who cant wait until this technology is out, I would Advice to use “Wipeer” which allows Serverless Peer-to-Peer Wi-Fi Connection for sharing files and creating your own Wi-Fi LAN.

Intel today(20th October 2008) announced that its architecture is well positioned to be at the core of new innovations and transformation for the new range of Internet-based applications and innovations coming up. Intel spoke about the Atom processor, the upcoming “Nehalem” processor, and the Intel “Moorestown” platform scheduled for the 2009-2010 Launch. Some information regarding the Intel Core i7 processor (launching next month) was also revealed.

Intel highlighted the progress they are making in the Mobile Internet Devices (MID) market segment with the world’s first working “Moorestown” platform demonstration.

“Moorestown” consists of a System-on-a-chip(SOC), codenamed “Lincroft,” which integrates the 45nm processor, graphics, memory controller and video encode/decode onto a single chip and an I/O hub codenamed “Langwell”, which supports a range of Input/Output ports to connect with wireless, storage, and display components in addition to incorporating several board level functions.

Intel executive Anand Chandrasekhar said, “Technology innovation is the catalyst for new user experiences, industry collaborations and business models that together will shape the next 40 years. As the next billion people connect to and experience the Internet, significant opportunities lie in the power of technology and the development of purpose-built devices that deliver more targeted computing needs and experiences.”

Chandrasekhar also put some light on the energy management of the new Moorestown platform stating that Intel is on track to reduce Moorestown platform idle power by more than 10x compared to the first-generation MIDs based on the Intel Atom processor. He also indicated that Moorestown platform will support a range of wireless technologies including 3G, WiMAX, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and mobile TV.

Chandrasekhar announced Intel’s collaboration with Ericsson for HSPA data modules optimized for the Moorestown platform. “This is one of the ways to accelerate the global adoption of a new breed of Mobile Internet Devices that provide people with more powerful, always connected Internet-based experiences.” These 3G modules are 25x30x2.x mm in size, are optimized for Moorestown power requirements and will help provide MID users with always-on Internet-based experiences. Ericsson is optimizing its module for Intel’s next-generation Moorestown platform and Moblin-based Linux operating systems. The module will work on both WCDMA/HSPA and GSM/EDGE networks worldwide.

Mouse is among the most used input devices on a computer. So it is essential to maintain and clean your mouse regularly. The first thing you need to know is that “Is your mouse calibrated?” To find out, Click and hold on the Y below. Then drag the Y towards g.(Click and Drag)

You dumb ass.

You’ll believe anything

If it doesn’t work, you need to Clean your mouse.

Sorry for the mischief…Lets talk about the real fact.
Now-a-days most people use optical mouse rather than the mechanical one because they are more sensitive. But LED based Optical Mice tend to get sticky over time because surface dust collects on the soft pads located near their light emitter. This might cause rough mouse movements and worse, the mouse may not work at all.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_cMyofPhE-cQ/SKAamffye6I/AAAAAAAAAOg/iDLu7EuD-HY/s320/Clean+your+Mouse.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5233212015596698530" />
The easiest way to clean dust without opening the mouse is by cleaning its lower part.Invert the mouse and gently rub your finger nail on each of the soft pad. Although this is not a very hygienic approach but definitely the fastest way to get going. Never use a sharp instrument like Shaving Blade, Knife or a Toothpick to clean the mouse as that may do a permanent damage to the soft pads.

Get a soft cloth dipped in water and gently rub it over the soft pads. Once the pads become slightly wet (not soaked), pick a clean white sheet of paper and run the mouse over it. The paper will absorb any of the remaining dust or sticky grease. There are chances that some grease is also sticking to your mouse pad. Apply some mild-soap water to the surface and wipe it with the cloth.

Another alternative approach is to Place the mouse on an A4 size paper, and hold the paper down with your other hand. Apply some downward pressure on the mouse, then drag it to the other side of the paper. Rub the mouse over the paper for some time. Your mouse feet are now sparkling clean!

Deeply thinking about this new release by Apple, I thought of getting information about the financial advantage to Apple from iPhone. Apple seems to make a lot of money with its new patented creation, whose estimated manufacturing cost is just 174.33$. Apple was supposed to sell iPhone-3G in subsidized rates in U.S.A (only 199$), but the actual selling price is quite high.

The manufacturing cost of 174.33$ (for 8GB version) which is estimated by iSuppli, the authority on gadget teardowns does not include additional costs like software development, shipping and distribution, packaging and miscellaneous accessories included with each phone. However, it does represent nearly a $52 drop over the cost of the original 8GB iPhone(old iPhone).

iSuppli’s Teardown Analysis Service obtained an iPhone 3G on July 11 and commenced a dissection in order to identify component suppliers, as well as to determine preliminary part and system costs. As per the teardown analysis and subsequent examinations by analysts, iSuppli has issued a preliminary estimate of $174.33 for initial production costs for the 8GB iPhone 3G.

The manufacturing cost of the old version iPhone-2G is less than 227$ according to Bill of Materials (BOM) obtained by iSuppli in June 2007, which is higher than that of iPhone 3G .i.e. Apple has worked on reducing the retail price of iPhone 3G by creating a cost-effective model. While there are variations in the components and suppliers for individual products, iSuppli believes that the vendors and parts identified in its teardown likely are representative of all iPhone 3Gs now being shipped—excluding certain memory devices and other commodity parts that are available from multiple sources.

Beyond the $174.33 BOM and manufacturing cost of the iPhone 3G, Apple is spending an estimated $50 on IP royalties per unit of iPhone 3G shipped. With the 8GB version retail-priced at $199, and the estimated $300 subsidy paid by AT&T to Apple for each unit, Apple is selling the product at a price of $499, and spending $224.33 (174.33 + 50) to produce each one. This gives Apple a royalty-profit margin of 55 percent for each 8GB iPhone 3G unit sold.

Now what do u think of this? So much profit….

But many Institutions and Corporates cannot afford to lose their important data, so they always try to avoid formatting their PC. Although, backing-up the important data is one option, we never know that the data which we back-up is infected or no. Also, even Antivirus these days are unable to catch some viruses. So it is better if we have a hardware that fights viruses and helps Data-Recovery with Automatic Back-Up.

A Few-Days back when i visited my Computer Dealer he showed me a new hardware which fights viruses and all kinds of malware. It also supports BIOS attacks. PCGuard is compatible with all computer with a processor advanced than Pentium-I. It works well with any hard-disk, be it SATA, IDE or any other. PCGuard needs VGA graphics and one Empty PCI slot where it is attached.Being compatible with all Windows operating Systems and Also LINUX is a plus point. Sorry Mac users!!

PCGuard works mostly as a data Back-Up tool. It continuously backs-up all the data. So whenever the Computer gets infected,we can recover the System to any given time. Most branded Computers have an inbuilt Software utility which helps the user to shift the PC to their Factory-Condition (as if the PC is just new). But this process takes anywhere between 30 minutes to 4-5 hours(for slow or old systems). PCGuard can recover any Software crash, virus or spyware infection, trojan attack. etc within 3 to 8 seconds. Its this fast. For any additional information, enquire in the comment section.

There was a time when INTEL thought that shrinking their processor chips to size below 100nm was something great and miraculous. But now about 6 months back, INTEL launched its 45nm processors (Penryn platform). And about a week back,INTEL executive Pat Gelsinger says that “Today we see a clear way to get to under 10 nanometers,” and it’ll be within the next 10 years.

After the 45nm Penryn processors, the next shrinking milestone will be the 32nm process which is set to kick off next year. Then continuing with the same trend, INTEL and others will go to 22nm in the next few years. After that 16nm and then according to the International Technology Road-map for Semiconductors it goes to 11nm.

INTEL is expected to touch the 16nm mark somewhere around 2013 and the 11nm mark by around 2015.Technically that’s not a sub-10nm ,but still parts like gate length are actually smaller than 10nm.

Gelsinger said that INTEL had to work hard for adding new elements during chip maker’s relentless pursuit of Moore’s Law, noting that while each new process adds materials used in novel ways, modern processors are still built on a “silicon scaffolding.” “We are putting more and more of the periodic table onto that silicon scaffolding. Today we use about half of the elements on the periodic table. When [Intel co-founder Robert] Noyce and Moore started, they used six elements”.

He also stated that process of shrinking keeps moving forward, and it will go on.The resulting processing power is surely cause “a dramatic restructuring of the user interface.” In the next few years, instead of silicon chips, it may be carbon nanotubes or may be spintronics. The squeezing goes on.

“The vision behind creation of Tegra family was to create a platform that will enable the second personal computer revolution – which will be mobile centric, with devices that last days on a single charge, and yet has the web, high definition media, and computing experiences we’ve come to expect from our PC,” said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at Nvidia.Tegra is power efficient and it consumes 100 times lesser power than the current mobile processors.

Nvidia Tegra consists of an architecture with multiple processors, each architected for a specific class of tasks – an 800 MHz ARM CPU, a HD video processor, an imaging processor, an audio processor, and an ultra-low power GeForce GPU.

With Tegra products supposed to reach the masses by the end of this year, impressive mobile innovations in Windows Mobile products are likely to be observed.Nvidia Tegra APX 2500 processor will be the first to be made available while Tegra 650 processor is the second product in the Tegra line.

Some of the impressive features of Tegra 650 processor are all-day media processing, for 130 hours audio, 30 hours HD video playback; HD image processing for advanced digital still camera and HD camcorder functions; optimized hardware support for Web 2.0 applications for a complete desktop-class internet experience; display support for 1080p HDMI, WSXGA+ LCD and CRT, and NTSC/PAL TV-Out; direct support for WiFi, disk drives, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals.A complete Board Support Package (BSP) will enable fast marketing of Windows Mobile-based designs.

HACKERS…
There are Genius hackers who develop various techniques which a normal man cant even dream of.Already hackers are able to send someone an innocent-looking Email attachment which can be a virus, spyware or anything. It can also work as ,When the victim downloads the attachment the electric current and the molecular structure of the Processing unit is altered causing it to blast like a Hand Grenade.

How horrifying and shocking is this?As emails are used for daily communication,we never know what blast is it going to cause the next moment.Even a person holding a grudge on you can blow you off.So its always better to be safe and not to download any unfamiliar attachments.
