It is noticeable that most of the newbie bloggers have the only intension of Earning Money by Blogging. They do not care about giving any value to the readers. As, Adsense is the major source of Income for majority bloggers, They start copy-pasting articles from other Sites and insert the Adsense codes on their sites. They expect to make money through it!

In most of such cases, if such sites are used for registering the Adsense account, the Accounts are not approved. But it does happen that people get their Adsense Accounts verified from good Article sources and then put their Advertisements on such cheap copied content.

Also, there are a lot of Softwares and Plugins which allow publishers to create AutoBlogs. Auto-Blogs are basically blogs which get updated automatically using the content from other sites. When, pre-mentioned websites get updated, the content in the Autoblogs is also updated.

So, the AutoBlogs have continuous source of Content without any moderation by the user. We can call such sites as a hub of Copied Auto-generated content. (they do give credits to the original source most of the times)

Many Publishers use Adsense Ads for monetizing such blogs. But, according to Google Adsense policies, it is not allowed. The recent Blog post on the Adsense Blog clearly mentions:

We don’t allow sites with auto-generated or otherwise unoriginal content to participate in the AdSense program. This is to ensure that our users are benefiting from a unique online experience and that our advertisers are partnering with useful and relevant sites.

It must be taken as a warning by publishers who use Google Adsense on sites with Copied or Auto-generated content. As the Adsense team has made it clear, your Account may be in danger. So, take proper care of your Adsense account as getting banned from Adsense may be the worst set-back in your Blogging career.

HTML 5 has brought in a new generation of web-pages and now we should move ahead and forget some past things which we used to do regularly. I am in no mood to confuse you so I will directly come to the point! HTML 5 has included a lot of new Tags which I am going to tell you soon, but first we need to stop the usage of some Old HTML Tags which no longer function in HTML 5.

<acronym> Tag

The <acronym> tag was used to define acronyms in HTML 4. An acronym can be spoken as if it were a word, example NATO, NASA, ASAP, GUI.

<applet> Tag

The <applet> tag was used to define an embedded applet. You can use the<object> Tag instead of it now!

<basefont> Tag

The <basefont> tag was used to define a default font-color, font-size, or font-family for all the text in a document. But we can use CSS for this purpose now!

<big> Tag

The <big> tag was used to make text bigger.

<center> Tag

The <center> tag was used to center align text and content. We can use CSS for this purpose now.

<dir> Tag

The <dir> tag was used to define a directory list. But we can still use the <ol> and <ul> Tags.

<font> Tag

The <font> tag was used to define font face, font size, and font color of text. It was among the most used tags in HTML 4 but we have to use CSS for this purpose now.

<frame> Tag

The <frame> tag was used to define one particular window (frame) within a frameset.

<frameset> Tag

The <frameset> tag was used to define a frameset, which organized multiple windows (frames).

Note: The Frame and Frameset tags are removed because it hinders the usability of the web-page. Also, it has negative SEO implications.

<noframes> Tag

The <noframes> tag was used to display text for browsers that do not handle frames. When frames are not supported then there is no need for noframes.

<s> Tag and <strike> Tag

The <s> and <strike> tags were used to define strike-through the text. We can still use <del> instead. Also, it can be handled using CSS.

<tt> Tag

The <tt> tag was used to define teletype text. But now we can use CSS for this purpose.

<u> Tag

The <u> tag was used to define underlined text. But now we need to use CSS.

<xmp> Tag

The <xmp> tag was used to define pre-formatted text. But we can still use the <pre> tag for this purpose.

Do let me know, if you know any more tags that do not function with HTML5. You can always try the Online HTML Editor !

Its been about six months my blog been on a free web-host and I thought that it was the right time to move to a premium host. I have been getting a good response from all you guys and it has made me take this step. Now firstly, you may ask, why did I opt for a free web-host? My answer: Lack of funds!

Now when I can see some cash flowing in, I don’t really mind investing some money in my blog. Actually, I had purchased this Premium hosting account from Dreamhost more than a month back. But it was not getting activated as my debit card was not billed correctly. So, I had to use a Credit card of my friend for paying the money and getting my Account activated.

You may not be unaware of the various problems I faced on a Free web-host. Firstly, My database used to get deleted after each week! And it used to get restored too, after a day or two. I know how fear used to creep inside me when I used to see the “Error establishing Database connection” message on the Homepage of my blog.

If this was not enough, it once happened that the “wp_posts” table of my Database got corrupted. This is the most important table of the WordPress database as it contains all the Articles you have written on your blog. I was about to faint when I came to know about this. Thankfully, Piyush helped me with the problem.

Also, the Free web-host dint allow me to host RAR and ZIP files for my readers to Download. It used to redirect to some promotional offer when they clicked on the link. Also, A warning on some pages would be shown that some of the features have been disabled because the Website is using Free Web-hosting. You can also refer to the SEO disadvantages because of using a free Web-Host.

I hope that Dreamhost does not give me any such problems and if I make the desired progress, the day is not far when Tech-Freak Stuff will be hosted on its own Private Server.

I have shifted successfully to Dreamhost premium hosting keeping all the factors related to SEO in my mind. I have done the necessary changes in the “Preferred Domain” option in the Webmaster tools [You can observe that now my domain name is no longer http://techfreakstuff.com, it is changed to http://www.techfreakstuff.com]

I just hope that you guys learn from my experience if you are still hosted on a free web-host. Make the move to a premium hosting as soon as possible! Just don’t wait till something really bad hurts your Website or Blog. To get discount on Dreamhost hosting accounts you may use the Discount Coupon code TFS70 . You will get a 50$ discount when you purchase any hosting from Dreamhost and also a Domain Name registration of any domain you want for One year. [This is the Maximum discount which Dreamhost normally offers, don't be fooled by anyone if they try to offer you some added discounts]

Now its high time I start posting cool stuff consistently here. I am looking forward to your support and increased participation. Thanks and Lots of love!

When we use the word Server, most of us are reminded of those High-End machines which can process information like supercomputers. How about carrying your Server in your pocket? Now you have a portable web server that can be run from any storage space in a Windows environment. It can be used from USB devices, removable devices, CDs, DVDs or the hard drive of the computer. Absolutely, no installation is required and it can be run right from the location where it has been placed.

The Server2Go portable web server can be downloaded in various configurations. The various configurations range from an Apache web server to a web hosting server supporting MySQL, SQLite, Pearl and PHP. The configuration describes the type of applications that can be run on the web server. MySQL and PHP support to run the websites are the most commonly needed configurations.

Start the Server2Go web server by double-clicking on the Server2Go.exe executable file in the root directory of the server. This will load the various web server modules and display a start page in the web browser. The pms_config.ini file can be used to change various settings of the web server including the default web browser, the port and whether the modules like MySQL or PHP should be started as well.

The actual files of a website are placed in the htdocs directory of the web server. Loading them can be as easy as pointing your browser to 127.0.0.1:4001 or some sub-directory of it depending on the type of site.

MySQL comes with phpMyAdmin which is accessible from the main interface of the web server. Server2Go offers an uncomplicated way to run a web server, it is especially helpful in environments where software installations are not permitted.

Wanna find and fix Broken links on your Blog or Website?
It becomes quite irritating when we encounter broken links on any webpage. It is necessary to avoid broken links in order to keep visitors of the website happy and ensure that search engine rankings do not get penalized because of too many broken links. So, we should take extreme care that we ourselves do not have broken links on our blogs or websites.

Manually checking for broken links on Large websites and blogs with thousands of webpages is literally impossible. Here is where programs like Xenu Broken Link Checker codenamed Xenu’s Link Sleuth come handy.

Checking thousands of pages in a Website for broken links takes a mere 4-5 minutes for Xenu’s Link Sleuth. Also a report is obtained explaining the exact reason of what is the cause of Broken link. This makes it easy for webmasters to takes steps regarding the problem.

The color codes used while reporting also makes it easy to check for problems as Green usually means that the link is working while Red indicates a broken link.

Its a common misconception that when we enter any web-address, we directly connect to the server which hosts that webpage. In fact, whenever an webpage is requested, the request passes from different servers and finally reaches the destination server where that page is located. So it is important to know, which servers are functioning better than the other to diagnose any errors during accessing any Website. Also, if you are the owner of any website, it is your prime responsibility to know which countries ban your website (from being requested) from their servers.

Traceroute command in windows helps you to know the time required by your computer to reach any website. Just-Traceroute is a new web-service which allows you to run the traceroute command in windows online. But the best part of this service is that the command runs parallel to four different servers located in Singapore, US, Netherlands and Australia. The results of Just-traceroute can be forwarded to anyone via Email without having to copy-paste the data even once.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_cMyofPhE-cQ/SJRTsgJL3uI/AAAAAAAAAMo/7b-BDdlXqVc/s200/just-ping.PNG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5229897091291799266" />

Just-Ping is another such utility which allows you to undertake a web-based ping for a server or a website using their network with 30 checkpoints worldwide. This gives you a fair idea about which countries do not give proper access to your website(might be server problems). Recently there were cases where some of the Website where banned in China. Just-Ping came handy in that circumstances.

There was always a need to know, How to track Google Adsense Clicks?, How to get Google Analytics-type data for our Ad clicks?, How to track clicks on all links in any web-page?, Who, From Where and When clicked on any of your Ads?. Even though this data would appear crap for amateurs, it is quite useful for professionals and curious bloggers. There have been a lot of ways to track Clicks with Google Analytics, but these include setting up complex Goals and other brain-stammering techniques. What if we can track Clicks with a simple Analytics-type code?(not dependent on Google Analytics)

ClickAider is web statistics system which is designed mainly to track clicks on advertisements and links.

ClickAider supports a long list of advertisement systems and constantly adds new ones as it comes to their notice. Google Adsense, Yahoo Publisher Network, and Clicks to other affiliates are tracked. Now the anonymity of visitors who click on our Ads no longer exists.

ClickAider is a easy-to-use service as it just needs a JavaScript code to be inserted in the source code of the web-page, and the tracking initiates. You don’t need to depend on some crude JavaScript codes developed by various individuals for tracking Ad clicks.

Even though I am new to using this service, it gives me a plenty of cool features like knowing the exact Ads which are clicked, and detailed log of tracking activities. It makes me known of what my visitors are really interested in and which links are they clicking. With all these information, I find myself as a private Webmaster having detailed tracking log of my website.
ClickAider FAQ

First thing which every Internet surfer wishes is Fast Loading websites. So, the first step for a successful online presence is a Fast Loading website. Also, serving website-visitors with fast loading websites is the duty of good Web-designers and Webmasters. But how to find out the loading time of any website? What is taking your website so long to load?

Load time of any website can be measured using Pingdom online tool. It is an uptime and downtime performance monitoring tool for websites and servers. An entire web page load test include analysis of images, CSS, JavaScript, RSS, Flash and frames/iframes. The statistics obtained include the Total loading time, the total number of objects loaded, the number of external objects on websites, HTML, etc.

Also this Pingdom brand recently launched a Load time analyzing bookmarklet which has the same function. Just drag this link to your bookmarks toolbar and then click it on any website to check its loading time. Check out this tool by using the utility below:

Pingdom – The Uptime Company

Visit Pingdom Tools and test your website.

This service helps to know how each element loads on a webpage, from connection to the complete load and it also helps to identify the scripts or widgets or other issues which are slowing down a website. Bloggers and webmasters would find this tool very helpful as it will help them to minimize their website loading time.

Share your website loading time and compare it with others. Tech-Freak Stuff homepage currently loads in 2.9 seconds. Can your website beat this?
